Birthday!

What a great birthday! Unfortunatly I didnt get pictures of the beginning of my birthday celebration so you have to invision it. It all started on Thursday. I thought we were just having a girls day out and it just happened to be that thursday but it turned out to be a birthday celebration with the girls. My friends from church took me to get a pedicure which I chose a great color. This font is close enough to the color :) then we went to a great Mediteranean restaurant for lunch. OH SOO GOOD!!! We then went shopping at a great place that sells used house items like doors, windows etc. We had a really good time there. We continued the day with more shopping in Salem.

Friday morning Joel and I got ready to leave for Charlotte for just the weekend. Joel stepped out for a little bit that morning and came back with a beautiful birthday cake, balloons and starbucks. All my favorite. I LOVE balloons and he did it up great with everything. What a great suprise. Of course we had cake before we left for Charlotte and packed some for Sat. as well.

Birthday morning Joel and I had delicious Birthday cake for breakfast and then I opened birthday gifts and then we headed out for Ikea. This store opened sometime around March or so and I'd been dying to get there. I could hardly wait to get in and see what they had. Plenty!!! lt took us a good 2 hours to get through the store and boy we could have taken longer but a yummy lunch was looming over us. I found some really neat things so we left pretty happy that we went.

I had a great birthday! After Ikea Joel took me to our favorite restaurant PF Changs for lunch and there gave me another birthday gift which was a totally awesome camera. I have decided to take a photography class this semester. There is a community college within walking distance of our house (not that I'm going to walk). After lunch we headed back home where we then ate more birthday cake and enjoyed a quiet evening.

Fishing trip

Where's Joel? Can you see him? Ok I knew this was coming it was only a matter of time.

I had decided to come out of the river cause it was getting late so I was on land and looked over at Joel and said yep he's going down. Sure enough I saw him start to lose his balance and down he went. It was so funny. The crazy part is he didnt come back up. I could only see his head. He said he went to take a step and he ended up just stepping right off a slope and it was so deep he couldnt touch the bottom. He had to just float with the current until he could touch the bottom and get back to where I was. Can you see him yet? Finally, here he is!

He's getting there but watching a little closer for more drop offs. I went out with the waders on but I didnt go out quite that far. I came close to getting one of those drop offs but I caught it just before I put my full weight down so I stayed where I was. I had the camera and accidentally brought my cell phone with me too so if I had gone in I would have messed up everything in my bag.
Here he is soaking wet but with his rod in hand and his wallet in his vest. yes he had his wallet and a few other things in the back of his vest. We ended up having to dry it all out when we got home.

After we went fishing we took a drive to Claytor lake park. The funny part was Joel had to pay with soaking dollar bills and then explain to the guy why they were dripping wet. He got a good laugh for the day! The park was really nice & come to find out there is a beach (manmade) but a nice area for picnics and fun. Now if I need a beach fix I dont have to drive 5 plus hours I can just drive 30min.
We even got there when a wedding party was outside taking pictures. Something new I hadnt seen - The entire party had white on with the accent of a beautiful royal blue. The only girl in the group had a gorgeous royal blue dress with the accent of white.

Kitty Hawk

Joel and I were able to stay in Kitty Hawk to have some recoup and quiet time from all that has taken place in the last few weeks. The sound of the waves was so relaxing and gave us a chance to just think about nothing but what we were hearing. Suprisingly even though we ended up being there on the 4th the amount of people was small and we had a wonderful stay.

The scenery was beautiful!
