the Bakery!

Here is the bakery that I work at. My parents came to the bakery the weekend they came for the apple festival. They came in and took pictures of where I worked which was kind of funny. If you look behind the door there I am making cookies.

On this side is where the fresh bread and breakfast & lunches are served along with some good coffee choices.

This is where all the really yummy stuff is. More frest bread, pastries, desserts to die for.
So now you get a little look into the bakery that seems to be blooming and as the holidays quickly approach the busier we will be getting. If you're ever in town look us up, I'd love to see you.

Apple Fest

The night before we left for the orchard we looked at the weather which wasnt very promising. They were calling for rain and very cold and yucky weather. The closer we got to the orchard the next morning the prettier it got. Thankfully it was just cold which we were all prepared for. I had long sleeve shirt plus 2 coats on for this trip.

Joel stayed pretty busy when we found the nice big juicy apples that just happened to be at the top of the trees.

Joel and I caught up with Mom & Dad who happened to be sampling an apple. We tried one and oh wow were they delicious!!! These apples were so juicy and had the best taste, not something I've found in the stores. We never did find out what they were.

We had such a great day! Mom & Dad left with 2 bushels of apples and a few extra items left from the locals.

Joel & I left with 1 bushel of apples and full tummies.

Temp.

Ok don't get excited. This little guy was a temporary visitor. We were given a chance to try Zulu out for a few weeks to see if he would fit in our busy schedule. On our way back from the Air Force game Joel and I picked up Zulu from Lexington. Zulu is 3 years old and very spoiled but such a super great dog. The first few days I think I nearly had a panic attack. I'm used to having a very clean house or at least I try and then we had a fairly large dog who tromped around and lets just say he loved our couch and the feeling of our carpet :)

We had a great time with him and man was he obedient. When we said sit he'd sit when I told him to wait he'd wait and wouldnt move until I told him to and his was very well house trained which I was thankful for when I got home late from work. No accidents in this house :)
Well it all ended this week when Joel and I finally made that difficult decision of whether we were really dog people or not and I think it all boils down to we are not, we're more outdoor dog people. I found myself feeling guilty when I was at work or at the store while he was shut up in the house and not to mention my house was not clean and Joel wanted a dog that fetched but didnt want his attention 24/7. So we gave him back with much difficulty but we thought it was best.

Air Force vs. Navy!

Great timing on this one for us. Joel and I were so hot, we decided to get dippin dots which Joel loves. On the way to our seats, we saw the Air Force falcons that are released during the games. The handlers were displaying them before the game started. They were bigger in person than I thought they were. We were very warm. When Joel and I left Christiansburg it was cold so we decided to wear long sleeves. Of course we were sitting directly in the sun so whenever a cloud came over it felt sooo good. Ok so Air Force lost but it was a good game. If one of our guys hadnt had the need to rough one of the navy players up I think we would have won! It was quite a game. The next day we headed out and made a stop in Lexington to pick up our 3 year old cocker spaniel named Zulu. He's a cutie. I will post pictures later about him.
