Anita

A few years ago when I was teaching, I was sent a clip of Anita Renfroe performing a great song. All of the teachers loved it. Last year I had the opportunity to go to an Extraordinary women's conference where Anita Performed and later that day I got to meet her and take a picture with her. She is hilarious. We all laughed so hard we nearly cried.
This song has just come out and since I love sweat tea I thought it was perfect!
I hope you love it as much as I do.

Pastors 50th Birthday

This past Sunday was a surprise party for our pastor. He didn't have any idea what was going on until we started singing happy birthday after the service. We put up some decor, I made close to 100 cupcakes arrange to make the number 50 and I also made a fake chocolate cake. After service was over everyone came to the other part of the church for gifts and cake.
Little did Gene know what was coming! We asked him to blow out the candle which was supposed to relight but that fell through but the cake stood firm! He was given a butter knife to easily cut this delicious smelling cake but couldn't. The best part was no one understood why he couldn't cut it. Finally he took his hand and put it on the "cake" to cut it and still couldn't which is where I told him that it was a roll of toilet paper decorated. I thought it was funny :)

One of our members read a poem she'd written just for the occasion, which turned out perfect.
After that he opened all of his gag gifts and enjoyed a great laugh. It's hard to see what he got but he had a nice variety of things from false teeth, retirement home papers, fossils and creams. Who said we didn't have a great sense of humor:)

Our trip to Suffolk

Joel and I made a trip to Suffolk the weekend of July 25th. We decided we'd hit the outlets in Williamsburg on our way which I could hardly wait for. The shopping in Christiansburg is not so great so I was very excited to get as much shopping in as possible. Little did I know what was awaiting us. We arrived in Williamsburg around noon and when we got out of the car we quickly decided this was going to be a quick shopping trip. UHHHH it was sooo hot. The tahoe said it was about 110 and we felt it. We went into the baby stores got cooled off, decided on our next store while in the AC and as fast as we could made it to the store. It got to be funny when I thought there's no way I'm going to make it with out getting sick.
I tried to focus on the extremely large jelly fish floating around while we waited to board. When it was time to get on we walked on the pier which I thought was solid. We're walking and I kept thinking man I'm getting really sea sick and I'm not even on the boat yet, I'm really swaying a lot. I heard mom laughing her head off (she was behind me). Evidentally I had stopped walking trying to figure out why I was swaying so much and well it was a pier that moved with the waves so to my releif I was fine but everyone got a good laugh out of my early experience.

The next great moment was when David and Dad went ahead of us to check out the boat. David noticed the spray coming from the back of the boat but dad didn't so he ended up walking pretty close to the boat and the spray just nailed him. We all happened to see it and it was halarious! He got wet but not too bad.

We were able to have our "photo shoot" before they set the sails.

We all took our seats before we set sail, listened to some directions and after a while dad said wow, I feel a cool spot. Then he realized that he was getting wet. He jumped up and we saw that moms water bottled filled with cold water was leaking onto dad. Another good moment where we all laughed pretty hard. There's never a dull moment.

I stayed in one spot until I was sure that I wouldn't get sick. There's nothing worse than getting sick in front of 30 or more people oh wait I've already done that!

My favorite part was sailing when the sun was going down. Oh it was absolutly beautiful.

The ride was great. We ended up sailing under the bridge, which was a bonus.
After our ride which ended at 9:00 we went to the restaurant and had dinner. We could hardly wait for dinner. We hadnt had really good seafood in so long and this was my night!

I was able to get all of my favorite - scallops, crab and shrimp hmmmmm

We were all so full we could barely make it to our cars but it was all well worth it.

We had such a great time. We wished we had a little longer to stay but Joel had to get back to his project so the day we left it had cooled down so nicely it made it even harder for me to leave!
