Where's Joel? Can you see him? Ok I knew this was coming it was only a matter of time.
I had decided to come out of the river cause it was getting late so I was on land and looked over at Joel and said yep he's going down. Sure enough I saw him start to lose his balance and down he went. It was so funny. The crazy part is he didnt come back up. I could only see his head. He said he went to take a step and he ended up just stepping right off a slope and it was so deep he couldnt touch the bottom. He had to just float with the current until he could touch the bottom and get back to where I was.
Can you see him yet?
Finally, here he is!
He's getting there but watching a little closer for more drop offs. I went out with the waders on but I didnt go out quite that far. I came close to getting one of those drop offs but I caught it just before I put my full weight down so I stayed where I was. I had the camera and accidentally brought my cell phone with me too so if I had gone in I would have messed up everything in my bag.
Here he is soaking wet but with his rod in hand and his wallet in his vest. yes he had his wallet and a few other things in the back of his vest. We ended up having to dry it all out when we got home.
After we went fishing we took a drive to Claytor lake park. The funny part was Joel had to pay with soaking dollar bills and then explain to the guy why they were dripping wet. He got a good laugh for the day! The park was really nice & come to find out there is a beach (manmade) but a nice area for picnics and fun. Now if I need a beach fix I dont have to drive 5 plus hours I can just drive 30min.

Something new I hadnt seen - The entire party had white on with the accent of a beautiful royal blue. The only girl in the group had a gorgeous royal blue dress with the accent of white.
I laughed out loud when I read this! ahhh, another funny fishing story to add to the Sloan family collection : )
ReplyDeleteNice fall, Joel!
ReplyDeleteNice waders, Nancy!
Did you catch anything?
Very funny! Both Justin and I got a good laugh out of it!!
ReplyDeleteWow, that must have been deep! The picture that made me laugh the most was the one where just his head is above water & he still has his hat on. HAHA! I'm glad you were able to find a beach...we still have to drive about 7 hours to get to one. :-(
