More fun in the sun!

We decided we'd try and find somewhere else for Hailey to play since it was so hot and she wasn't a big fan of the sand. Jockeys ridge? Ok yes it's all sand but they had a little visitors center and some trails. I thought perfect, she can get some energy out on the trail and I can get some good pictures. I still haven't figured out how I did this one. I've been trying to get the person in the background blurry and it worked now if I can just remember what I did I'd be golden!yes the trail was a great idea until the end and I looked down and had at least 6 or more mosquito's on my leg and Hailey had already been bitten. We had to quickly run out of the area because they got so bad. Poor thing, she still has the marks from those bites. I was painting my nails one day and Hailey pointed to her toes, she wanted to look like mommy. Yes I had green nails:)Right before we left I think she finally got used to those big waves pounding on the beach. We need a good week for her to adjust to things then another week of fun. oh well, we'll try again.

Next stop the BEACH!
I could hardly wait to get there. If I could live anywhere it would be here. I love the smell of the salty air and the relaxed atmosphere. This trip went a little different. I had visions of Hailey playing on the beach until we dragged her out. NOPE! that sooo wasn't the case. Our first day Hailey nearly had heart failure when she saw the huge waves. She kept pointed back to the car. So we do not have many beach pictures.
On this picture Hailey was taking daddy back to the truck. ALL DONE!
Her favorite spot to play while at the beach, Joel's new truck. She loves to play in the back so that's what we did. We sat in a cool spot while she played her little heart out.
This was the really fun day. We found out that the pier was having kids fishing day contest. Unfortunatly Hailey was too young so mommy took one for the team. Oh, no I didn't count either but I had fun anyway. I caught a flounder, several croakers and spot. We even saw a hammer head shark only a few feet away from where we were fishing. In my book wayyyyy too close to the swimmers. Hailey had no fear on the pier. She loved touching the fish and even threw one back in the water for us. She even attempted to go over herself. Thanks Eugene for a really fun day!
Once again pointing to our things so we could go back. We had a lot of fun hanging out at the beach. Hailey enjoyed staying clean more than she did making sand castles. I could have stayed on the pier all day fishing if it wasn't so hot. Joel just enjoyed spending time running around with Hailey.

On the Move

After a very long year near Virginia Tech, Daddy finally came home from deployment. Our turnaround was quick. He was given only 2 weeks until he had to report to our next destination. After many phone calls and time changes our movers came to pack and load all in one day. OH what a day that was!!!! Sunday was spent cleaning up the house and off we went to our grandparents house. Hailey was all set.

We had to take a quick break to stretch our legs and sure enough there were cows in a field so Hailey spent some time trying to get them to come to her. It was funny.
A few days with Joel's family, Hailey enjoyed playing with all the cousins and seeing princess again.

Memorial day!

Hailey has become quite the talker. She loves to talk with daddy!

She was halarious talking on the phone and checking out her bracelet at the same time.
If you haven't heard our latest story you obviously noticed the little bandade on her head. We have great neighbors across the street and Hailey loves to play with their kids. We were all out playing on the slide/swing set and One mom was at the top I was at the bottom and Hailey was going down the slide and changed her mind at the last minute at the top and started to roll over but fell off instead. She hit something sharp and yep, our first trip to the emergency room. HORRIBLE!!! Blood was everywhere but thankfully she only got 2 stitches and all was good. Her head is looking really good and she says boo boo every now and then and I hold my breath every time we walk outside! Her new love is swinging, safer I think except that she can swing by herself and likes to let go. It never ends!
