Was it worth it?

I hadn't been to a yard sale in a long time and the weather seemed nice so Hailey worked on her second breakfast and after that we headed out. I had it all planned out. First scope out our neighborhood and a few others behind us and head in the direction of Panera for a wonderful Latte and head home.

ALL DONE!

And we're off! Our first stop, a small sale with baby stuff. I found a cute little baby scooter for .50cents. Not a bad start. The guy told me there were really good yard sales further down so in the car we went and found the big one.

I had Hailey sitting in her car seat and I looked through some clothes. I'm not a big clothes buyer at yard sales but these were name brand Gymboree and some other higher scale stores. Evidentally I wasn't looking fast enough cause the owner came over and started handing me the really nice outfits. I'm standing in her driveway with my arms full and a big bucket caught my eye. It was full of a beautiful baby bedding set. I asked how much it was and she said she had it on ebay for $25 but she'd give it to me for $20. The one thing I learned from mom when we went to yard sales was always try to see if the person will give you a better deal.

So I thought I'd pull out a Mike and Frank from American pickers and ask her to give me a bundle price. She gave me a price and I questioned if I really even needed to set like I always do. I told her I'd pass but would think about it. I left with the clothes and ended up pulling off the road a ways down. YEP I changed my mind.

After going back asking her to hold it, running to get some cash and then pulling up to her driveway I was sold that I'd made a good decision and then it happened. An out of body experience. I decide to leave Hailey in the car, I get out, close the door and realize I cant move. I look down at my hand and do a double take. I'm looking at my 2 fingers closed in the door and the door has literally clicked shut. I think I was in shock at first and then the pain came - I opened the door and then I nearly passed out. oh man was my hand throbbing. I quickly paid for my things, the husband graciously took it to the car and I went straight home. The hardest part was getting Hailey out of the car seat. She just smiled and had a great time though.

So for my question - was it worth it. ABSOLUTELY!
